I believe you are talking about the transfer tax which is $3.75 for every $500 to the Buyer and $1.50 per $500 to the Seller? That applies only to Chicago. My understanding is that LaGrange does not have a transfer tax and Countryside charges $50 flat fee. (as of July 2011) There is also a $.25 per $$500 cook county transfer tax and a $1 PER $1000 State transfer tax.

Does La Grange, IL and/or Countryside, IL get the 1% Chicago property sales tax?
