Does anyone know the current cost per foot to build vs buy in Georgetown SC?

Closing on my house in two weeks, have been looking at local "used" houses with a agent, but most need a lot of updating. They are older and are smaller lots. Also looking at a new subdivision of turn key houses in a desirable area. They just seem to be high once you go anymore than the spec plan, but like the idea of a new more modern house. No one has built yet either, supposedly there are 5 contracts in hand Is it worth it the extra and how much more is worth it?

Try this site. It may not be 100%, but it gives a decent approximation - especially since it is adjusted for locale. My personal experience is that you're going to pay more for new construction, especially if you start adding in upgrades.
