Does the bank ask for paystubs more than once?

So the bank asked for paystubs for the pre approval process.
Will they ask for additional stubs like once I find a house and the process really gets going?

Please make sure you keep faxing over to your bank your paystubs until you close and sign on the home your buying.

On current market and due to stricter lending guidelines, It is normat to get pay stubs before buying, and during the buying process.  Underwriters are under more presure to assure that there is nothing left to the imagination. But with current prices and interest rates you should be pleased with this enviroment. At the end of the day, everybody wins.

Often they ask for paystubs or confirmation of employment within a day or two of the actual closing.   Plan on it so you aren't surprised and lose your financing.   If there is a reason you don't want them to look, you may wish to reconsider moving forward.

Probably.  It really depends on how long it takes before you have an accepted offer.  The bank will want proof that your job and financial situation have not changed prior to handing over the money for the home.  It is only good business on their part.  There are about 10 do's and don'ts that everyone should be aware of when buying a home.  They are listed on my blog.  I apologize if that statement violates the good neighbor policy.

Most likely...  They will require updated paystubs depending on the time between the pre-approval and when you find a home and do the formal application.

I have known for lenders to ask for stubs once to get you pre-qualified; allowing you to then go house hunting because some sellers want you to have a a pre-qualification letter before showing their property to you and are not wasting their time.pay.  Once you select a home you will need the pay stubs for loan approval and the buying process.  Proof of income.
