FHA Loan with a Deed-in-Lieu

Profile picture for tkoontz
In 2008 my husband was transferred out of town with his job.  We were unable to sell our home and qualified for a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure because of this.  Now we would like to purchase a home. Can an exception be made when requesting an FHA mortgage if there are extenuating circumstances such as this?  Besides the deed-in-lieu, our credit is still good, we have no debt and our income is high (about $105K combined).

Just curious if you were able to get a loan in your situation. We also have a DIL on our credit and we are trying to qualify for an FHA loan.
