Tough one... currently using both, could live without either although I think 30 day change is the second most important number. Cyberhomes shows it... HomeGain does not. Tough if you're showing all three side by side.

Regarding my last comment...normally I would have a stronger stance since I believe you can never have enough data and I think these fields are both important and lend more credibility to the Zestimate. I would be concerned if there are performance implications and the api call failed to respond in time.
More data or more performance... that's what makes it a tough call.

We use both fields to provide additional information and context for the Zestimate. We would prefer that they remain

As a real estate agent I love the 30-price trend field as it lets me know how the market is trending. The must have is the email that gets sent out with the update 30-day price change. As far as the last updated field I don't use it and would not miss it.

We are currently using both on our site, and it would be a blow to not have them...

I use both. Without the date of last change, the information is useless, could be 5 year old data. In today's market, the 30 day change is key. Without these two bits of information, I would probably discontinue using Zillow.

Could you offer a different call that wold be faster that did not include these fields?

Our Ratchet-X plug-in uses these fields so we'd prefer them to remain. While both fields provide value, we find the last update field of more value.
Thanks,
Joe

We'd prefer both fields be kept since they are used by our Ratchet-X plugin. Of the two, the Last Updated field has more value for our users.

I think last update is critical to the validation of the information. 30 day change is a nice figure to have. I would like to see an API call that gives you 12 months of history for the property. Good APIs in general though, good work, and thanks the chance to weigh in!

For backward compatibility - please keep the fields. If parsers are looking for them and they no longer exist, that could kill old code.

I can live without it, but I'd rather have it. Although, now I'm curious what the performance reasons are...

I'm using both fields and don't understand why it would be helpful to remove them.

I'm not using them because I didn't notice they were there. Now that you've called our attention to these, it sounds like valuable information to present to our users. This is trend information and trend information is extremely important; especially in a volatile market. For example, the IT trends indicate that the cost of processing and performance will continue to go down as the value of information will continue to go up. Get the point?

Drew, we use both. The last-updated field is extremely important as It provides time relevance to the data. I feel the 30-day change serves a related purpose as well as indicating market fluctuation.

Buy more servers. Don't you guys have a blank check from the VC's? ;)
Always a compromise between data and performance.
I don't use the API key (yet) but when I do, I'd use both the 30 day and last update field. They provide valuable information.

And while you're adding servers, can you change that little "chicklet" next to my user name from "Agent" to "Broker". Trulia does it....

30 day change is real cool. I could live without last updated (though still nice to have)

They're both nice to haves, but not a requirement, for my software: Property Center.
Regarding db performance: Maybe you can separate the results into different api calls and limit the number of times people can call each, rather than having 1 api call that covers everything... Also, I'm not sure of your db structure, but maybe you can offload some of the "heavier" data to disk or a CDN like S3.

We use both of these fields and prefer they remain. Both are valuable in determining an overall picture of a property's value

We are using both on Dwellicious. I think they are both very valuable because they give fine visibility into recent changes that are hard to quantify just using the graph. Cyberhomes offers both and we show both if the client requests a valuation from their service.

Last Updated is important. Why is zillow needing to cut out fields? Are you moving towards a more accurate process? If you have something better, then suggest the intentions more clearly.

I believe that both fields are ones that consumers have come to rely upon, and demand the most current data. I would definitely keep them in place.
