Judy,

You should contact a local realtor and tell them you are interested in finding out how much your home is worth.  Ask him/her for a CMA report (comparative market analysis) that contains the last 6 months of activity in your area.  You will be able to see details on homes sold in your area for the last 6 months, as well as what homes are currently listed at.  From there you just find a comparable home and you have a good estimate of your value.
