I would agree that a lender does not need to be in your town, but as a 1st time buyer you may want to find someone you can meet with face-to-face. If that's not important to you call me and we can see what your options are. Just click on my profile to get my contact info. However since you asked for someone local I would recommend you contact Lon Alward at Eagle Home Mortgage (530) 722-9700. Best of luck!

Look under Zillow's 'professionals' tab and search for one and or look at these forums, left hand side, the mortgage forums. Personally there are several lenders who have answered a lot of questions here that I am impressed with, the lender does not need to be in your town. As a first time home buyer ,it would be best for you to be guided in this process, are you not working with a Realtor? If so, she should be able to suggest two or three mortgage lenders you can choose to work with.Generally speaking the loan will be about the same. First thing you need to do before you do anything is to make sure you are qualified and for how much to purchase. Best of luck to you. That is a beautiful area you live in.
