For pre-approval, would I not get pre-approved if I only worked at the same company for 4 months?

The article states, Pay stubs and W2s (lenders are looking for income verification for two years)--does not mean I would not, or have a harder time getting pre-approved if I have not worked at least two years?

You should be fine whether a conventional or FHA mortgage as long as:
1) You can document a two year work history, or
2) If no two year work history you can document the previous time was as a student / degree etc.

Pre Approval involves more than work history. You are on the right track to get pre approved but it is now time to contact a loan officer to discuss your entire financial picture.  Go to Professionals tab above and locate a loan officer in your area/state to assist you.

If this is your first job you may have a problem. If this is a new employer in your same line of work you should be OK. If your total work experience is less than two years you may be OK with a FHA  loan. I don't originate FHA loans. A lender that originates FHA loans may clarify this for you.

Happy funding, Rudi
