Can your agent call structural issues out and help eliminate paying for inspections on houses that will be expensive to repair? Determine if windows are likely to need replacement (one of the more expensive house upgrades)? Having basic construction knowledge is critical to give accurate feedback on the details of an investment. Particularly if you are a first time homebuyer there is a lot that will pass inspection that will suck in the first few years of owning a home - and if an agent is either oblivious or assumes you saw it so you know, that can place you in financial distress.I agree with Sunny too...if your agent only tells you the good stuff: RUN!
