Franklin County, PA -- are real estate assessments adjusted after purchase?I have observed that some properties in Franklin County may be selling for about $250,000 and have a $45,000 assessment (1960 values) while some houses that are selling for about $350,000 has assessments of $25,000 to $30,000. Why the disparity? Is the county assessed value adjusted after the house is purchased? After purchasing a $250,000 house with a $45,000 assessed value will the county ajust the 1960 assessed value downward after purchase?
