Full-servie RE Brokerage vs Flat-fee, Limited Service and Internet-based Brokerages

Profile picture for Realtyman1
10 years ago full-service real estate brokerage were expecting inroads with the advent of Flat-fee, Limited Service and Internet-based Brokerages.  Does this hold true in your area now?  In my area flat=fee and limited service brokers have not made the inroads most expected.  We have a few "MLS Only" and a la carte brokers, but people are finding that they as homeowners don't realize the mess they are getting into...legally, safety and otherwise.  Comments about your area?

I find that my clients simply want to be in control. If they are finding homes and determining which ones to see then I have no problem giving them a closing cost credit. The upside to this is that I stay pretty busy w/25 - 30 transactions per year through the worst real estate market in living memory. But I am not a "limited service" brokerage - perhaps this is why we are so busy. I'm always looking for a few good agents so if anyone wants to share in our success - feel free to contact me.

The limited service brokers have not been that successful in North Jersey..  Some have even gone out of business.  They simply do not have enough tools to maximize exposure.
