They also want to cure Alzheimer's disease, yet what percentage of them participate in a distributed computing project?

A failure to act for a cause that you believe in is still a failure.

Obviously something has to be done.  It's becoming a bigger mess with so many people just giving up and walking away.  Many try and work something out with the banks and don't get anywhere, so it becomes easier to just walk away.

Would it have been possible to have used the bail out money to set up a government program that would have loaned money at certain percentage or something to borrowers that were in trouble to help them through, rather than the bank bail out.

It seems a little unfair that it was the banks that gave loans out like candy and when things became tight, the banks were bailed out and the homeowners ended up loosing everything.

In addition to sampling error, question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of public opinion polls.

"As you may know the rate of americans losing their homes through bank foreclosures is expected rise sharply in 2012."

With that kind of setup what other result was expected?

Do you think it is fair for renters and those with and without mortgages to pay for programs to keep deadbeat non-mortgage paying people in their houses?

The results would be very different.
