I dealt with Kevin Beck from Guaranteed Rate. When I was working with Wells Fargo, it was like a visit to the dentist so I was apprehensive working with Guaranteed Rate.
Kevin Beck made the whole process painless, was very helpful, explained everything along the way and had a quick turn around.
I don't know about the other representatives but Kevin is worth asking for!

This question was asked almost a year ago. But since I see a lot of negativity, I felt the need to chime in. I do a lot of sales. I also have a lot of listings. I see and work with a lot of different companies. I have to say, it all depends on the person you work with. I personally have a go to rep that I use when I need something. Do you know where he is from? Thats right, Guranteed Mortgage. This guy has saved deals for me that couldnt be saved. This guy has gotten back to clients right away. I get approval letters from him in 15minutes. HE CALLS PEOPLE BACK when there is a problem!!!! (I felt the need to put that in all caps because, a LOT of lenders dont, in fact when the going gets rough, I see most lenders get going!!) Hands down thee best lender I have EVER worked with. I have had deals with all the big banks, all the small companies, and no one has been easier to work with than my guy at Guaranteed Rate. I can promise you this. I would love to hear why people say its negative? Now, I can only atone for the broker I work with, but what has made this a bad company? Because you guys just say, "yes, negative." Sounds like your just trying to promote your own services.
This coming from someone who just joined today. I see the smear campaign continues.

Positive Experience. I used them for my own personal loans as well as loans for my customers buying homes or condos. They have a HQ in Schaumburg so go see them in person to see for yourself.

I'll take a different approach. It may seem unusual, but I have actually used GR several years ago for my own invements refinance. I only used them for privacy issues within my own bank, which I'm sure everyone understands.
With that being said, costs/closing were in line. And naturally, my loan was soon sold to Counrtywide.
On the other hand, I've also heard mixed reviews from past customers. It all depends on who you are dealing with.
One funny thing that always caught my attention, It seems like everyones title at GR is Vice-President.

Negative!! They don't tell you anything about fees. They are not upfront and kind of abandon people. I had the experience myself with a client of mine who had originally used them for a quote.
