Deaths and crimes are not the "history" of your home. History is building additions, remodel, designer, builder, who bought and occupied when...
For the real history of your home, although news papers are very valuable, you want to check the records in the local building department, and you want to check the county records for ownership transactions.
And then you want to interview neighbors and previous owners.
You also can get some "history" by looking at manufacturer dates of appliances and equipment (electrical panels...), and by pulling off samples of paint to see what colors items were painted when since most don't do a full strip down.
Also look for posted termite inspection notices, especially under the house.

Yes definitely check with the police station. They should have all records of anything that has went on at that property.

Zillow wouldn't have that info, but your local newspaper office or police station might. I would start with your local police and ask for a search by address for police response calls. You can also do an address search for many newspapers to see past sales if they are published or other stories related to the address.
HOW DO I GET HISTORY OF MY HOME?
I WANNA KNOW IF ANYONE HAS EVER DIED HERE OR ANY CRIMES EVER TAKEN PLACE IN MY HOME?
