Has anyone been successful in getting a not-so-positive agent rating posted?

I posted a not too favorable rating for a real estate agent & cannot get Zillow to post it.  Nor, can I get an answer from Zillow as to why it wasn't posted.  (While a favorable one I posted was published immediately.)  It is vital to allow a free forum to voice pro & con opinions.

I have seen a number of negative reviews of agents and lenders on Zillow, so they do publish them.     The common reasons I've seen that reviews don't go through is that a review is for an agent that didn't represent the reviewer (e.g. the buyer's agent when the reviewer was the seller, or the seller's agent when a person was the buyer), or the review was not specific enough and/or didn't give enough detail.

since the agent was not your agent, then most likely the post will not be posted.  That has come up before and you did not have a direct relationship with the agent that you're reviewing. (and if I were to bother to go read the rules on reviews....i suspect there is a policy regarding this).  It's unfortunate because everyone in a transaction is affected by the professionalism and behavior of all of the agents.  However, I can see some good arguments for not allowing such things.

If nothing else...find a way to share your experience without "spreading the bad word" so that you can educate consumers on what to avoid or look for in similar circumstances with any agent.  (not suggesting to slander that agent....suggesting to share the story with no names since you can't review the agent- if one person learns something and avoids the problem it helps. ).

I think you hit the nail on the head:  this realtor was not our agent, but, instead, the buyers' of our property.  I have re-written it with more details & re-submitted it & it still has not been posted.  I'll try contacting Zillow again next week to see what they can recommend.  I really appreciate all of your good ideas & input.

All reviews are posted but it seems to take a few days.

I agree negative and positive reviews are helpful as long as they are true
and based on actual facts.  When posting a negative review it should be done responsibly and when one has had a moment to put into perspective what happened and why. Buying and selling a home can be stressful for some but as long as you know your agent and trust your agent there is no reason why your experience should not be a pleasant one.
Sharon summed it up when she said ask questions on these boards. There are agents here willing to help.

I am sorry you feel you had a negative experience with an agent. It looks tome like you deal in real estate a lot, epic holdings. My dad taught me that the professional you use is only as good as you are, meaning, read the contract, do your homework, ask questions. I go over things and over and over them with clients to make sure they understand what is going on.
So to the public I say, ask questions, listen to what your realtor says, ask to see the contract in advance.Ask for the comps, ask for a print out of the most recent comps, hire a home inspector, termite inspector. Ask us here on these boards. We are all willing to help you.

like sunnyview says keep it honest and accurate and stick to facts without a lot of feelings in the review.   Also keep in mind that reivews (good or bad) take a while to actually post.  I've seen someone say it's a few days but I know that one of the clients from my reviews said that posted and it was more than a week later before i saw it.  so...it may be that it just hasn't had time to post yet.

and i agree.  postiive and negatives reviews are helpful.  sometimes the details provide far more info than the feelings. - I've seen postive reviews that would scare me away from the agent if I were looking for one, and negative ones that wouldn't scare me.   so keep it factual for best results!!!

There are negative reviews like this here on Zillow. From what I have read, most reviews that are not posted just need more specific detail. You should shoot for being fair and honest, but not nasty or grudgeholding. the guidelines are here and there is more information here too.

I would try to resubmit it. There have been people with both good and bad reviews that have not been posted for one reason or another. I think it is important to share your experience. You might also try to ask this person here to give you suggestions about what your review needed included to be posted. Zillow seems to post reviews in batches so they might be running behind in moderation. I would submit it again and see what happens.

Oh yeah! I saw an agent crying to Zillow about it. Unfortunately, I didn't keep up with what eventually happened.
