Hope for Homeowners program? Lender participation is voluntary
The Washington
Post reported the other day that "lenders have balked
at requirements that they cut some of the principal
that borrowers owe. Only one homeowner has received
a government-backed loan under the program so far."

I'm working with another company and am in the process of getting this, though I can't say for sure because my current lender has yet to bless the deal. The other company has me all approved, and Fannie Mae has approved as well.
This place I'm working with has had some success with my current lender and we should know within a few weeks if this pans out.

I don't know of a lender that even offers it. It was a huge bust.

Has anyone experienced a positive result from going through the Hope for Homeowners program?
