Has the market in Corona/Riverside slowed down a little? I see very few buyers if any at open houses

The market is still active, however, we are heading into the holiday season and some buyer's will tend to put their house shopping plans on hold until the first of the year.

I just did an open house yesterday in Riverside at a beautiful home priced just under $500,000.  It was a busy open house with very good attendance.  I have already received one offer from that open house and wouldn't be suprised to get one or two more.  I'm seeing that there are still lots of buyers and not enough inventory of houses for the current demand.  Some of that may slow down with the first time buyers if the tax credit is not extended.

Open houses are not the most efficient way to shop for a home.  And if a buyer is interested in seeing a house, their realtor can let them in without all the extra hype and others present.

Though open houses are still considered an important marketing tool, many believe it benifits the seller's realtor more than anyone else.

Sure, some people just like to look at a variety of homes.  But many are finding they have more important things to do, and that the website photos are almost as good.  But if they were really buying, they will visit on their own.

All of my agents that I speak with say the market is still very busy with short sales and foreclosures.  Most tell me the issue is a lack of sufficent amount of resale homes abailable for sale.

Find a good agent in your area, and let them guide you.

Good Luck.
