If its a typical W2 salaried job, it shouldn't be an issue...if its a contractor type job, or self employment then it will be.

Have you been pre-approved for a mortgage? Have you even tried? If not, then you might want to get in touch with a Realtor and have them walk you through the process. It might be possible to get financing and buy a home even with the job only having being 16 months old. Worst case scenario, then you know what you need to do to get pre-approved in a timely manner.
