Home Buyer Traps and Treasures!!

Here are some tips for home buyers to get the best deal possible and not spend forever looking for the "Dream Home"

1. Get Pre Approved before you even look at a home.
This might seem a little backwards but getting pre-approved by a trusted lender can put you in a position to pull the trigger when you do find that perfect deal instead of losing it to another buyer that was ready!

2. Know where you want to purchase and your price or payment range
This will help you to avoid wasting time looking at homes that either you can't afford or just aren't in your desired location.

3. Be Realistic

If the home you are looking for is not out there or its just to expensive this means you might need to adjust your criteria to fit your price range.

Treasures!!
1. Get with a good Professional Agent that works full time in your benefit!

2. Avoid the Short Sale game!

3. Make sure you are getting a list of homes at least 3 times a week to keep you on top of the inventory

In response to item 1. Why is this considered backwards? If you are not able to pay with cash, it would seem to me that it is the most important step!

Why would you look for homes that you cannot afford? Why would you view homes that you cannot afford?

Get pre-approved - do not waste yours or your agents time.

Justin I think this is a miss understanding... I was leading to the idea that getting approved is the first step and looking at homes only in your price range
