Home Improvement | Painting : Bold & Fun Children's Rooms

When a homeowner is expecting a baby, plans for a nursery become a part of home improvement. Beyond pink and blue, there are a lot of fun ways to turn an extra bedroom into a baby's room.

Yeah it's an old post but a relevant one.

In picking up a 'garanimal' toy and considering the fact, I went straight to the paint dept. and picked up 1 qt. of each garanimal color in gloss paint.

I have used these colors throughout my young clients room.

Two (5 drawer chests) were the first to receive the colors, each drawer was painted a different color, base left as is.

Some used pcs. were also painted and worked into the project.

Some scrap shelving was screwed together in odd shapes to make some shelf / wall treatments and painted the same glossy bright colors.
The toys look great on them as well.

A stop by the sewing / craft dept, gave me a huge choice of materials in which to make a window treatment to go along with the colors and theme.
Way more choices than the childrens curtain area...and they're not that hard to make.

If you need some wall art, think about just basic shapes like squares, circles, triangles and paint them bright colors and maybe apply a series of
Cap. letters on them...maybe the babies name.

I have found that they are quite a few moms and dads out there that want to get away from the basic pink and blue , and the answer just maybe in one of your childs toys.
