Home Values...

So I am curious as to how the value of our house, according to Zillow has plummeted, while the house directly next to us has significantly increased?  This makes absolutely no sense.  Especially where they have not done any significant home improvements and we have added new roof and new windows.

Zillow utilitzes raw data based on tax assessed value (which is not market value) and sales trends. If you are curious as to what your market value is a licensed Realtor can provide you with a market analysis and give you pointers. Central Arkansas for the most part has not lost a great deal of value.

Sometimes foreclosures in your area can pull estimates down based on sales trend raw data. That is not to say that a foreclosure will always bring your property value down.
