Licensed and insured is always the way to go!  Protection for both the contractor and the consumer.  Also it will be the first question people ask a contractor when interviewing them for a job which will enhance the contractor's reputation allowing them to command a higher price for the job in the future and add a higher value to the home.  When you are licensed and insured, in the long-run everyone wins!

Yes, we are based out of Philadelphia and you are required to register with the state for a state license. You will also require insurance in order to pull permits for bigger renovations as well as proof of workman's compensation if you have employees. Requirements will vary by township.......In other words, Yes you do!!
