Home torn down and rebuilt. Zestimate is WAY off.

Friends of ours bought a property several years ago.  The cottage on the property was falling down.  They tore it down and built a gorgeous new home in its place.  The Zestimate for their new home is only about $50,000 more than what they paid (essentially just for the land) a few years ago.  I helped them update all the facts about their property, but it didn't help.  The current Zestimate is literally about 1/3 of what the place is worth.  What can they do?

Unfortunately, the last sold price has a major impact on the estimates.  There is nothing to do to change that variable except sell the property again.

But there is a provision for the owner to provide a comment on the estimate.  It is worth commenting on.

Also be aware, that the other details corrected take about 6 to 8 weeks to fully impact the estimates as those revisions are phased in over time in the estimating method.
