Seems kinds scuzzy to me too. Actually it is the whole enchilada of internet "services" which so, so many people are drawn to, yet have absolutely zero responsibility to the public.... and yet people LOVE this junk.
Time after time I read people here griping about wong values in zestimates, or irregularities in listings, or the map arrow is in the wrong place, or house listed for sale but are not, or whatever.... and yet people seem to love this monster.
I do like zillow, et al, but just about only as means for public dialog. All else is J U N K.

Homeowner's authority denied
It is obvious that no Listing Agent should have the ability to take control of something that belongs to someone else. The Homeowner should have the absolute last word on anything pertaining to the property that they OWN.
Currently without permission, any agent can pick any house to put into their portfolio, and use the Zillow website to falsely promote themselves. http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1600-Pennsylvania-Ave-NW-Washington-DC-20006/84074482_zpid/
