Your prices are off by 100% in laurel, mt 59044.  Specifically Ramshorn and Portal Dr.  Is this due to the improvements?

I suspect what has happened with the property in question is that user edited facts have combined basement square feet with above grade square feet, so the Zestimate is being calculated with incorrect facts.    The suddenly rising Zestimate a few months ago may be coincident with the edits.

You mean this one:
1528 Portal Dr Laurel MT 59044

So if 100% off, you think it is only worth $320k, so 100% more makes it $640k?  If it was 100% less, it would be $0.

Yes, the chart does show a rapid increase toward the end of 2010; but this is likely due to sparse sales occurring, throwing off the approximation method.  Zillow is working on the sparse data issue, and will be calculating again in the near future, so, you might want to wait a few months before deciding what this apparent increase means.

Improvements to a home rarely reflect in the estimates completely.

Zillow updated their data with new, more correct data. If your home was HIGHER before, its simply means it was over-valued before the update. Now its more correct.

WHAT is the address is question ?
