Yes, when dealing with listing aggregation sites such as Zillow, these types of problems are not uncommon, because Zillow is dependent upon this information being sourced from lots of different places (which are often times inaccurate or outdated). For the most accurate and up-to-date information on Baton Rouge area real estate I would recommend going to the source -- checking out http://mls.gbrar.com which is the public website built directly on the local MLS's live database and provides real-time access to local listing information.

Zillow puts the sale date into the site when it has been entered into the local government databases. Sometimes this is a few weeks, sometimes it is several months.
Otherwise, the status listed on Zillow is dependent on the agent updating the status.

How before status changes on house from closing date?
My second question is how do you find a knowledgeable and trustworthy agent. I specifically am looking for someone experienced in REO-Foreclosures.
