Your best resource would be asking the neighbors, I live near the train tracks, and I hear it everyday at the same time.

Is there a train station in town? Go there and ask for the schedule.

I would ask the neighbors. You could also call your local transit company and see if they can give you a schedule.
Make sure and visit the house and listen to it both inside and out while a train is passing if you intend to buy it to hear how loud it is.

Depends on the type of train.
Commuter trains have very predictable schedules that you can easily look up. Freight trains don't necessarily have set schedules, so they can rumble on by at any time.
I used to live less than 1/4 mile from a CSX line crossing. All hours of the day, you would hear that "whistle" blare.
Good luck with the house.

How can I find out how often trains go by a house?
