If you want to find a rental, the best place is at craigslist.org (sacramento).
They have a lot of listings for rentals. 

There has been a number of horror stories about rentals. So always check out who the owner is, and make sure they pay their mortgages, and property taxes, so you do not end up being evicted by the bank. 

Also check out the property management companies in sacramento, they usually have a bunch of properties for rent.

Sounds like you should be careful.  There are quite a few scams going on with rentals so make sure you verify the listing and do not advance any money upfront to an out of state location or PO Box.  Good Luck!

It does not look like it is listed for sale on Zillow here. You might try a search site in Sacramento County here or call a local agent who might be able to look up the history in the MLS database and tell you more.
