where # is replaced with the specific Zillow property identification number for the property, which is the same ZPID number used in the home details page URL.

To discover the historic value of a home in 2004, I'd suggest talking to a local agent, because precise historic sales data is not readily available through sources like Zillow. Local agents can often pull up the tax assessor records (showing the sales prices from past years) through an online portal. They also have access to MLS information, which SOMETIMES will include the 2004 sales prices. (Different MLS services provide information over different time periods.)
A local realtor can also research neighborhood prices and more or less derive the 2004 value of a house based on neighborhood sales. If you pick an agent who has an established market presence in the given neighborhood, you should be able to get a reliable analysis. This "neighborhood sales based valuation" approach is often useful if you're trying to set a home's value in a given year, but there was no sales event in that year. For example, when a homeowner passes away, the estate often needs to calculate the value of a home as of that event, but there's no actual sales price to fall back on.
The local County Assessor's office will have all recorded deeds, so that's the most guaranteed source for this information. It does take a few hours to do the research, but you can come away with a photocopy and hard data.
Good luck! Let me know if you'd like more information on how to pursue any of these tracks, or have more questions.

You asked:
"How can I find sold homes value in 2004?"
There are three ways ways to find information on resales more than 6 months ago.
1 - Go to the local hall of records or County Recorder. Lots of work!!!
2 - Hire an appraiser...$300-$500. This may be required, depending on the reason for the information.
3 - Contact a local Real Estate agent. Most of them can do this for you easily and for free in hopes of getting a referral or future sale of the home.
If you need a referral to a top agent almost anywhere, contact me by clicking on my picture.
