You can always contact a local real estate agent to do a comparative market analysis they will do this for you at no cost to you. You can also get an appraisal done however that could cost you about $400. Or you can use Zillow's website right here and get what's called a Zestimate.

1) Appraisal is best
2) A CMA from a local realtor is next best
3) I caution on the use of tax assesments and other automatically generated values because they don't typically take into consideration all factors especially the current condition of the property.

Find a good, local agent in your area and they can do a CMA for you at no charge. Take care.

On Zillow, one of the  tools offered is a Zestimate.   A Zestimate is a calculated value using public data and a starting point for comparing homes.

FAQs:   What is a Zestimate?    Zestimate Values and Accuracy.

To obtain a Zestimate, click on the "homes" in the top line of this page, enter the address and click on "go".     To get the home details page, click on the address in the pop up box.

The best way to find the current value of your home (other than paying for an appraisal) is to contact a good realtor. A realtor will provide you with a comparitive market analysis (CMA) that is very similar to an appraisal and should include adjustments from homes that have sold recently that are the most similar to your home. This is one of the services that I provide my clients in San Diego. Anyone who is looking for a comprehensive valuation on their home can reach me [phone number deleted by Zillow  moderator.  Please refer to our Good Neighbor Policy for posting guidelines]
