How can I get you to update your zestimate? I have invested over $120,000 on improvements.

I would like to see your zestimate updated even if a physical onsite inspection is needed

Claim your home and use the "owner's estimate" feature.  The Zestimate doesn't take into account upgrades (or downgrades) for any property.

Zillow has a tiny staff, and doesn't do physical inspections of any properties.   The Zestimates are not an appraisal, and will never substitute for an appraisal.

Zillow is not going to come out and inspect every property in the country!  The best thing to do is to claim your property and edit your home facts.  Zillow will take that into consideration and will recalculate your Zestimate.  It can take some time for the process to happen, but it will happen.

It's best to find a certified appraiser to get your estimate.  Having been in the architecture field as well, it's common that what you put into your home, you don't necessarily get back.  It all depends on the finishes you chose, how personal the upgrades were, and what you upgraded.  Good luck to you!

Here is a link to the Zillow FAQ page which includes articles about how to "create your own estimate."
Here is, also, a link to Remodeling Magazine's Cost vs Value Report.
You will find that the country is broken down into good detail and there should be an area near you that is tracked.  Workabee's point is well taken, the average investment only rturns about 60% of the dollars spent to added value.  It varies by region and project.
If you have specific questions about how to enter a particular project, contact me through my profile.
Happy Holidays.

What you "invest" and what you house is worth is not the same. Get an appraisal. You might be surprised at what you find.
