I would STRONGLY suggest that you purchase a copy of a new book by Al Bingham, The Road to 850. Just search for that title and get the book. Alo Bingham is one of the foremost authorities on not just credit scores, but EXACTLY how Fair Isaac derives your score. Here's another tip that you'll get in his book: The free credit reports you can get from the Big 3, (Experian, Trans Union, and Equifax) are NOT the credit score that actual lenders use to make determinations about credit worthiness. These "scores" while possibly close to your score, exist for only one purpose: they make money for the companies that publish them! Isn't that a kick in the britches?

We are in the process ourselves in trying to do this. There are some good free programs that use a soft pull on your credit to help you monitor where you are at. Credit Karma is one that we use and we have found it to be pretty accurate. Depending on my credit card activity use this to figure out what the next steps are.

You need to get a couple of "secured" credit cards and negotiate your old delinquencies.

I actually don't have any credit cards at the moment .i have delinquent accounts from years ago and can't seem to remove them off my credit as they multiplied in prices that I don't owe. A credit repairer wants to charge me 800 dollars to repair my credit but sadly I don't have the money for that at this moment. Any advice on how to do it yourself
Thanks for answering appreciate it

STOP using all your c.cards immediately, pay them off as much as you can, do not apply for anything that involves money, in person or online, you might be able to see an improvement in your credit score in about two months.

How can I improve my credit score by the fall/winter to get approved for a first time homebuyer loan
