Credit repair is more than removing negative information from a report, it's proper credit management, adding in good credit accounts if you don't have them, making payments on time, low balances on revolving accounts, limiting inquiries into your credit less than 5 per year, and having different types of credit (installment, revolving, mortgage).
If you don't know where to get approved for credit, start with Capital One secured, First Premier, and Orchard Bank. They're credit cards designed to rebuild credit and they approve people with low credit scores.

As Wetdawgs already said, the best way to improve your FICO is to understand it. I would be very cautious about credit-repair organizations, as I have yet to hear of them doing anything that you could not do for yourself.
