Home sales are public information once they are recorded by the county. Tax assessors and many others use that information. The condition of the property and terms of the sale are not disclosed. Use caution.

The California Purchase Agreement states that the sales price of the home will be published in the MLS as a matter of public record. Many websites, including Zillow, take information from the MLS and put it on their website. In order for a purchase price not to be published in the MLS (and therefore Sillow) you have to request and sign a confidentiality form during escrow. Once escrow has closed there is unfortunately no way to change this.

In most states, including California, the price paid is public information. Zillow doesn't remove public information.
