Hi Tanyia

How long have you owned the property? Is it homesteaded? For Coral Gables property taxes, you can check on the Dade County Property Appraiser's website where they have an estimator that gives you an approximate tax amount.  If you just bought the property and it is your homestead, make sure to file your homestead exemption.  Each year, the appraiser reassesses each property.  You will receive a notice in the mail as to the new proposed tax amount.  You can then petition to have that reduced if you think it is too high. There are several things you can claim to reduce your taxes if you qualify (widow, veteran, agricultural, etc.)

I hope this help!

Each county has a specific process/time frame for appealing your property assessment. In order to determine if your assessment is correct, you would want to find out what properties are selling for in your area. A Realtor could provide you with the comps you need.
