I agree. the photo of my home and the info provided is over 6 years old. we have added a pool and a guest house and it isn't even reflected on their site..

I do understand your frustration. But I don't think a potential buyer or seller should consider zestimate when it comes to making an offer on the house or pricing it to list.Otherwise, you are right-it will be a joke. Charles is right-the only way to get an estimate on the value of the property is to get a CMA done by a local real estate agent and/or appraisal.

Your's is an issue that has been around since the inception of Zillow and all the sites that provide similar information. This is an estimate with a price range of about $30 - 40K, low to high. The best way to get a good estimate is when it comes time to sell contact a REALTOR who will do the comps for your area setting a more realistic price in all probability. You can also hire an appraiser and get an appraisal based on current market value. In today's internet world where information is public to include your property tax records, county property values, etc. it would be difficult to try and prevent all the sites out there from farming this info making it more accessible to everyone.
How can i protest your obsurd estimate on my house?
Zillow is a joke. Come on people lets protest this stupidity and unfairness. What, now we can't even own property and expect it to grow without some evil force coming into our neighborhood and dictating our house values without even coming into our homes to see improvements etc? I think no house should be valued publicly without the owners permission.
