A Realtor in your area can help you search the property history and if there is a mortgage on it and who the owner of record is.  I am on another island but you could find a Realtor around the Lahaina area that can help.  Aloha!

Call the town office that the property is located in. Just give the address and the office workers can supply you with the name of the property owner and address that they can be reached at.  Public information.

You might check the tax records.

You may not be able to find the holder of the note, but you may be able to find the owner of record from the tax records.

With a little luck you may be able to find the company that services the mortgage (if there is one), but even if you did it would do you no good. They do not deal directly with the public.

I also notice you mentioned you were in Lahaina.  In Hawaii, many properties are leasehold, so that may change how you find the responsible party.

Why on earth would you want to find the note holder? They can't sell the property to you. They might could sell you the note I guess.
