We have made no updates or improvements to this house. It would only appraise 2yrs ago for $165, 000. How could it increase when property values are decreasing?
I know a little about appraisails since at one time I was in Real Estate as an agent. I was a member of thr Board of Realtors here. I know how to get comps and there are no houses hardly in this area that has the same kind of houses in my area. I know I tried years ago to get them and couldn't find any. Also none of the houses in this area can possibly be correct from an areial view.
I refuse to accept this appraisal without the correct square footage, the amount of bedrooms, and bathrooms....none of them that were on that is correct.
Thanks for your answer but it just doesn't fit. I had to go the last time and show the tax assesors office they were wrong and get the assessment more close to the worth.
P.S. We tried to get a reverse mortgage and we were turned down because our house didn't appraise for enough. If it was truly the amount shown, we could have easily got one. DUH!!
I am a "unhappy" homeowner.

Mary, the Zestimate would be based upon the last sale or the property records. If there have been updates such as a finished basement or an addition it would skew the Zestimate.
How can you "zestimate" any house without knowing how many bedrooms, baths, and true sq footage?
