How come my home has gone down three times as much as other homes in my block?

My home went down 3,600, and a smaller home on our block only went down 700.00, why is that? We have added a new deck, new paint , new windows screens, new 50 gal water heater energy saver, re-landscraped our front yard, so why is it our home went down so much money, and a much smaller home did not go down, what is the issue here, what are you looking at to make your  estimate on what our home is worth. The home to the right of our home went up 5500.00, the home to the left of our home went down 1,000.00, the home two doors from us went up  500.00. Can you please explain your logic.

Zillow is for fun and should never be used instead of a real professional market analysis.

Unless you are considering refinancing or selling, Zillow's zestimates don't matter.

Welcome to Zillow.  I am not a Zillow employee but hope I can give a few clues.

Have you had an opportunity to read the FAQ "What is a Zestimate?".

A couple of points:

Zillow cannot see your new deck, new paint, new windows and screen, new hot water heater and new landscaping.  Those are not part of the formula, hence the phrase "Zestimate is a starting point for comparing properties".

If you look at the last time period, it is not unusual to see neighbors going up and down in a way that doesn't appear to make sense.  If you look instead at the six month or one year trend of these homes, are they similar?
