I hate to say it but not all agents keep their listings up to date! At the end of the day it is their "job" per MLS rules & regulations to keep those statuses up to date! I hate when I see an inaccurate status in MLS, we as professionals need to have accountability for our listings and make sure we are putting out the most accurate information.

When a property changes status to pending in the MLS it should no longer show as active on Zillow within 24hrs of the change.  However, properties  in the  UCB (Under Contract accepting Backups) status show as "active" on Zillow because they are still being actively marketed.

The listing party is responsible for keeping the status up to date.  Some do a great job.  Some do a lousy job, unfortunately.
