If you could describe the specific type of data you are trying to remove, then perhaps we could offer some suggestions. Information deemed "public" varies from state to state.

Thank you. The only public information in my county is the lot square footage and house type (single family). I would like to clear the house square footage, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, year built, number of stories, furnace type, roof type, etc.
So I went into my house details and cleared out all of those fields/set them to unspecified. The page lets me save and says that it is updated, but it isn't since all of the details still show. I have tried clearing my cache, etc. to no avail. I am am very disappointed by the lack of response by zillow to my emails.
Thanks for your quick reply and any assistance you can provide.

Also, once I get those details cleared, I assume they won't be used in the Zestimates anymore?

I see that Zillow finally cleared many of my fields, but not all of them. I logged a second "Report Problem with Home" to get the rest of them cleared for the following fields:
Fireplace
Attic
Cable ready
Ceiling fan
Double pane/storm window
Fenced yard
Garden
Jetted tub
Lawn
Porch
Currently, all of the above fields are showing as 'N', which is incorrect and might negatively effect my Zestimate. I want the values CLEARED so they are not Y or N. It is very frustrating that we can't seem to do this ourselves. If anyone knows how, please let me know.
Thanks.

Zillow still has not cleared the fields that I reported as an issue. Zillow, please clear my fields since I cannot do it myself!

It sounds as if you are doing it right, but some browsers have trouble with the "save" button, and someone mentioned there may be a "time out" for the corrections (15 or 20 minutes). Try Firefox browser, and try saving the changes more frequently while working.
But none of those items listed are used in the Zestimate modeling and extrapolation at all.
As for the other changes, they don't effect the Zestimates immediately, but are phased in over about 6 to 8 weeks, so you only notice a gradual change. The random estimate fluctuations will be much larger than what you appear to observe from the real data changes.
By the way, I believe "blank" for those other options is equivalent to "no" since it doesn't show up in the "more info" in either case.

By the way, the other features are added/subtracted by pressing the "add more features/description" on the edit page, and it is just a check-list. It is either checked, or it is not. You un-check them just by clicking again.
(One box for text for items not in the list).

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have tried Firefox, Safari and IE.
The problem with the checkboxes is that when you uncheck them, it is recorded as a No, which is incorrect in my case. I want the values cleared so they are neither Y or N. That is an inherent problem with checkboxes. But they really do have a blank values. They just often need to be set from the back end.
Good to hear that none of those fields apply to my Zestimate, which is still way messed up for my house, but getting better.
Thanks again. Hopefully someone from Zillow will respond soon and correct my data.
Well, on the ones I have no check on, if it is on the list under the "more facts" at all, it indicates "--" not "N".
And I believe one of them I checked once, but then cleared as I changed my mind on how most people would interpret it, as compared to a literal interpretation.

Hi davis_wildhorse -
Our apologies for not getting back to you in a timely manner.
We can't clear the said values. Specifying if these features are available or not is the best option.
Thank you.

Hi Neil,
Thanks for getting back to me. I am sorry, but the values were once clear or (--), so it is unacceptable that you can put them back to that state. Again, it is my right to have these values cleared out. From a database standpoint, you should be able to set the fields to null, if necessary. I would ask that my case please be escalated to a supervisor.
Thank you.

How do I clear house details that aren't public?
Thanks.
