You can tell a lot about an agent by what they post about themselves.  Most agents also have Facebook pages.  These reveal a lot about their views, how they intend to work with you, and the skills they may possess.

All licensed agents who are members of a specific MLS can show you the property, and have the tools to do the research, and find the answers you seek.

Never hesitate to inquire directly of an agent about your questions.  How they respond will speak volumes about how well they will serve you if you move forward.

I agree with Deirdre--Ask family and friends for a referral.  If you receive a name, you can always google the name and try researching some info about them.

No referrals available, then look at Zillow and the reviews on the agents. Like Deirdre mentioned, if you don't "mesh" with them, find another agent as home buying is most likely the largest investment someone can make.  You should have a good relationship and trust with your agent as you will be relying on their opinions.  Best of Luck!

I always recommend speaking with friends and family in cae they have had a good experience with a local agent. Any agent licensed in the state you are looking in can show you a listed property and act as your buyers agent.   Online take a look at the agents posted here on Zillow and read their referrals. Chances are if they are on here they take their profession seriously and will do a good job for you. If you meet up with a agent and you don't mesh find another. You want ot be comfortable in the process of buying your new home.
You could call the listing agent directly.
 Good luck

Any Realtor can assist you with any property listed. Is there a specific property you need more information about?
