For your home, you "claim it", then post the corrected info as the owner. For the others; oh well, you send someone at Zillow an E-mail and wait 2 years, or you "flag" every property you can and include the correct info in the flag comments.

TOO FUNNY!!! I too, am from St. Louis, in the Parkway Central High School area (which Zillow has the high school listed as Fern Ridge). They have this incorrect for hundreds of homes as well!
The high school associated with my home is incorrect.
I live in Chesterfield, MO, the Riverbend/Green Trails area. The high school which is associated to this area is Nationally Acclaimed and Award Winning. It is a nationally recognized "Blue Ribbon" school of excellence. In addition, Parkway Central is accredited and recognized for "Distinction in Performance for High Achievement," the highest rating available by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The high school Zillow currently has listed is Parkway's "Alternative Tech" high school, a school for kids in danger of dropping out, called Fern Ridge.
If I were a prospective buyer, and was looking up Fern Ridge, I would not at all be impressed, nor would I want my children attending.
***ALL of Chesterfield data, including "Schools in the area" omit Parkway Central High School***
How do I get this fixed!???

Click on Drew's Avatar to get to his profile to send him an Email from the website since he has already read your posts. I don't think that will allow attachments and the number of characters allowed is limited, but you can get the majority of the data to him for him to give to the appropriate people in the staff.
But as they already have a very long "wish list", they probably will tell you they have no idea when they can get to such things.
If one fix would fix the whole nation instead of just most of one school district, they would probably move it up on the priority list.

Using ZIP codes wouldn't completely work here either, since the 63131 area straddles the Interstate. But I'd be willing to find and send the district boundary lines to someone if that would help!

Still, thinking about how this would be applied to my area.... One would have to NOT do a search for closest school, but would have to have a table lookup by city or zip first for "closest district"; then find the schools in the district, and do a "closest search" for the appropriate grade level school. PUSD is 3 cities and two county areas, and one of those cities, it is only the north part of the city. 5 other school districts will often be found as "closer", but they all have a different zip code.
Doing it by zip code, one would need 9 zip codes to get most of PUSD with only extraneous for Temple City. One would have to have the border in Temple City to avoid that.

Now that may be a change a programmer could make fairly quickly if they can get a little spare time. Good suggestion!

Except in a very narrow strip that's in Kirkwood, all of St. Louis County west of I-270 is in the Parkway School District for quite a number of miles. I'm sorry, but it's bizarre that your software would get the correct elementary and middle schools, but so completely misassign the high school, to the extent of putting it in an entirely different district. It makes your services less valuable than they might otherwise be. You'd be better off calling everything west of 270 "Parkway" and letting a few dozen households in the Kirkwood schools do the reflagging than getting hundreds or even thousands of them wrong.
What Pasadenan says is correct. If there is a nationwide source for address-school associations, we'd love to find it. But we haven't seen it out there as of yet.

Yes, it is true, there is no simple reference location to look up school districts by address for the entire country. And each district establishes their own attendance boundaries for the schools, and often changes them based on demographic shifts, so it is even harder to electronically look up school assignments.
Thus, unless posted by an agent or owner, the majority will be shown by a "closest distance" search, which of course is wrong in many cases.
If there are listings or claimed properties with photos... you can "flag" the property with the wrong info and Zillow will receive a priority E-mail to review the situation. Otherwise, unless you can suggest a way to electronically "correct" a huge portion of "school district/school guesses", it would really be unlikely to be manually corrected by about 100 employees for over 90 million ownership housing units.
