It really doesn't matter what the zestimate amount is, it doesn't affect your home value nor does it affect the taxes you pay on your home. One reason for the zestimate to be useless for us is that TX is a non disclosure state and sales prices are not made public. Since Zillow relies on public records such as TAD to compute the zestimate, the numbers are skewed.
Zillow is not an appraisal site either. If you want to know what the value of your home is, you can either ask one of us local Realtors to prepare a market analysis for your home, most of us offer this as a free service, or you can hire a professional appraiser for about $400.
