How do I dispute a Zestimate?

My home is listed with a lower value than homes on the same street with less square feet and bathrooms. Why?

One can now post their own estimate, and post the method that the estimate was determined.

I had to respond to the remark that "as a Realtor, I never even look at a Zestimate." The issue here is that Realtor's don't buy homes and most buyers today at least on the Philadelphia Main Line, do look at the Zestimate for homes for sale which they see. While you cannot dispute your Zestimate, it is important that it reflect your Main Line home's true value. Our marketing team has had success in improving Zestimates for homes I list. While it isn't necessarily a deal breaker, it is one important piece of information for many buyers.

@angela

The BAD news is that you can't dispute an zestimate no matter how incorrect it is. Who says so? Zillow says so and plead the First Amendment as the justification for their nonsense. Can you believe that? No I can't either and frankly it is outrageous that our legislators have not caught up with technology and introduced some form of regulation to force zillow to act in a more fair minded way towards consumers.

We know this can be done as our legislators haveintroduced Regulators to keep control of Utility companies, Banks, Insurance, Healthcare, Investment companies, Communication companies, etc  - all of whom previously exploited their market power over consumers and now pay the price. The sooner zillow is subjected to similar constraints then the better for society at large.

Zestimates are not a reflection of true market value.You cannot "dispute" your zestimate!
The zestimte is comprised from computer generated data and a special mathematical "algorithm" that is then applied to that data.

What you can do, however, is to "claim" your home as the owner....and then edit any incorrect information.......you may also add comments you believe will be relevant to value..............please know that your comments will not affect the zestimate at all......only the correction of incorrect information might result in a change.

My best advice?
Forget about it...........as a realtor,  I never even look at a zestimate.
