There are several ways to find out if the home you are staying in is being foreclosed by the bank.
Most of the time, the way the tenant finds out is someone will post a notice on the home. If this has not happened it doesn't mean it is not in the foreclosure.
Also, it is very easy for any realtor to find out within minutes if a Notice of Default has been recorded. Call your local realtor and they will be more than happy to help.
If you want you can go to the county recorders office and find out yourself!

Good Luck!

The Trustee will notify you by certified mail and they are required to publish the sale date in a public forum for four weeks. Once you have a NOS, notice of sale, the county recorder's office will have record of the pending sale date. There are remedies to delay the sale of your property indefinitely, say up to 36 months...

A short sale is a remedy to get out of your property. But there is very little advantage to short selling in the state of Ca. Ca is a non-deficiency state, meaning they cannot get a judgment for the difference from the sale/auction in comparision to loan balance. Your credit is at risk. Yet again, there are alternatives- Have you heard of Credit Deletion? This will erase any negative strikes on your credit history with the exception of a ch13 BK..

A short sale will stay on your credit for 5 years, as a notice of sale will stay for 3 years...You might as well delay the sale because your credit is already smashed, and then delete your credit. Will you be able to live in a comparable property for the same rent as your mortgage? Or better yet, will you get approved with a 500 credit score?...not likely.

If you want to explore these options you can contact me via my profile. Best of Luck and hoped this information helped!!

You will receive letters and notices from your lender notifying you how much time you have before trustee sale date.  They send it by certified mail so you will know about it.

If  you are behind in payments, you might want to consider talking to an agent who specializes in short sales to save your credit.  There is no cost to you to sell your home on short sale and you have to act quickly.  It is best to prevent foreclosure and it can be done.

As a service to homeowners in financial distress, I have made this information available on this site: www.MyForeclosureSolution.info.  Feel free to request for the reports to educate yourself.  This is an important decision you need to make.

I am assuming you are renting, owners are required by law to be notified. Call your property manager or landlord immediately if you suspect it is. Your local title company can also tell you if a recorded notice of default has been filed. Your local newspaper will publish the trustee sale three times as well. Check their website and see if an address search will return results.
