I belive if you would have asked the seller's agent they would have disclosed it to you.
It may not be required in your state but in CA it is required by law.

They have a haunted house web site. You'll have to google it. A lot of homes have had somebody die in them. This doesn't effect value, and doesn't have to be disclosed. We simply don't know.

I'm not really sure if this post is a joke or if there is really a legitimate concern here. I'll admit that I did chuckle a little although it has come up before. Before I tell you to go call your local ghostbusters, I guess my question would be the same is Carmen's: What sequence of events happened to cause you to think the house may be haunted?

If you are experiencing paranormal events, you can find information about removing them on the internet with rituals like "smudging" here or a house blessing from a pastor or priest. I think that generally most "ghosts" are other things that can affect the energy of a house. Most events that take place in houses do not hold negative "energy" after they conclude. True disturbances are rare and most are not significant enough to affect residents who live there. Some people believe in spirits others do not, but you can take charge of your own house either way.
My advice is similar to agentblu. People will happily charge you money to remove spirits if you call them. Most are not legitimate even if they believe that they are truly sensitive to spirits. I would do some research and do the simple things that you you can to claim the house as your own. Most spirits are people after all and they will leave when politely asked. Tell them to leave. You might be surprised at the result.

How do you find out if it's haunted?? Thousands of scientists have spent millions of dollars and years of their lives trying to prove that ghosts exist, and haven't been able to do so. I doubt that you're going to find "proof" on this messageboard.
But, I'm sure there are plenty of paranormal "experts" out there that will gladly charge you a hefty fee to come out to your property and tell you that yes, they definitely feel a "presence" there. They might even let you "talk" to the spirit, if you pay extra.
My advice-- worry about things like termites, leaky pipes, and faulty wiring in your new home. Those are much more likely to exist, and much less expensive to remedy, than ghosts.

How do I find out if someone has passed away in my home or if it is haunted?
