The county that you live in should have a website that you can access. A portion of that county website should have a link to the tax assessor. Once you're in the tax assessor portion of the website it should be a breeze from there.

If the listing has been on the maket awhile, ask your agent to contact the listing agent and verify that the taxes have been updated to reflect the current year.

You can also go to your county treasurer's website and enter the address or APN. If the website doesn't have that ability then you can check at your county. A call to them might save a trip.
