The quickest way is to look up your home in Zillow or a home close to it.  There will be something called a "zestimate"  that little sucker is pretty accurate.  If want something spot on get a real estate agent like myself to do some analysis.  Nothing beats looking up actual past recent sales on the mls to know what houses are selling for in your neighborhood.

Well, that zestimate is not always too accurate... Here's a recent example, July 2013.   We just listed a home in "The Fairways" at 33221 Poppy St in Temecula.  Zestimate shows the value to be $429,000.  We put it in escrow within 3 days at $650,000 which is a new record for the neighborhood!!  Seller says he's writing a review on Zillow.  It should be a good one, I hope :-)

There are several pretty accurate computerized tools but nothing beats a local experienced agent with strong market knowledge who can give you very accurate info on the value based on the floor plan, amenities, condition, views, and please don't forget the marketing exposure!

Oops.  I had posted a link to our tool to get the complete report for the value along with price trends etc, but I realize you're not allowed to post links (Zillow moderator removed the links).  Please contact us and we will send you the link to the tool.  It's absolutely free service to the consumer.  It will even update your on a regular basis so you can always see what has recently sold, what's competing with your home, inventory, price trends and much more.

I would recommend that you contact a local realestate agent and ask for a comparative market analysis on your home. Most agents will ask to visit your home to see the condition of it, or at a minimum as you questions about te condition and if you have made any improvements. Then you can meet at the agents office or your home and review the SOLD properties that are like your house. This should give you an idea of what your home is worth in this current market.

The best way to obtain an estimate for your property is by contacting a few listing agents and requesting a comparative market analysis.  Good luck!

Zillow provides you with an estimate but it's not necessarily accurate. We just sold listed and sold a home in Temecula for $464K, but the Zillow estimate at $410K.  Another listing we just sold on 11/18/12 was a home in Morgan Hill, Temecula.  Zillow estimated it to be worth $520,000 and we sold it at $635,000.

A perhaps more interesting analysis of available homes and recently sold, with price trends, can be found with this tool.

An even more accurate value would be to contact a local agent who sells a lot of homes and who is familiar with the market.  The sales price also depend on other factors, one main factor being the marketing of the property.

While there are many sites that can provide your answer, a local agent will get you a better answer.

Email me your address and any details that could affect value and I will reply with my opinion.

No strings attached.

Hi Dustman57. Reach out to an agent local to your area. Ail ow is a great tool, but it will never replace the expertise of a knowledgeable agent familiar with the nuances of your marketplace. If you need a referral, I have a nationwide network available and would be happy to put you in touch with someone. Best of luck to you!
