For posters on Zillow, contributions are photos, discussions, questions, advice posts and I believe listings. Contributing to the Advice forum gives you contributions and it also increases your visibility on the site. Agents who contribute helpful or interesting content get more views and more calls from people who see them on Zillow. 

You can also become a local expert for your area by answering questions.Here is  a video on earning the local expert badge on Zillow. There is also one on earning the all star badge here. Generally, people get their all star badge first and then work towards getting their expert designation. Welcome to Zillow and hope the info helps.
